Aileens Visit

With 2 weeks since our last visit and 2 Opportunity Groups missed it was like Aileens first visit all over again.. which wasn't such a bad thing considering the last time she was here i got the distinct impression she was seriously pissed at someone, me? i don't know still! I told Nina that Aileen was coming earlier on in the day as i didn't want it to be an actual surprise but i wasn't prepared at all for how Nina was to react when Aileen did get here. I saw her car pull up told Nina that she was here.. i figured, as any other time, Nina would jump up on the chair near the window and would just point out the car but nope.. Nina jumped a couple of times on the spot and then put her chin into her chest and pushed past me into the back room ...?? Aileen was still sorting out the items to bring into the house so i followed Nina, picked her up and carried her to the door.. but when i put her down she ran off again! Nina used to do this all the time when she was teeny-tiny but i havent't seen it in over a year- still, Aileen, i'm sure, has seen far more osbcure reactions from other kids before so i didn't put too much emphasis on it ... and whilst Aileen was setting herself up on the floor i went to get Nina and to her credit, she did run to Aileen this time and gave her a big squeezy hug - crisis averted!! Funny how in such a short time Nina resorted to her old tactics.. maybe school isn't going to be such a big deal after all- so long as there's a routine, it appears we'll be alright =) ...and you know, i don't think Nina was acting unhappy looking back.. it was more that she was so excited she didn't know how to react- bless her =)
