Opportunity Group

Today was so quiet- there was no more than 10 kids there today which was lovely... even two of the usual helpers weren't there -not sure about Riks where-abouts but Jill's moving house this week and apparantly it hasn't gone to plan... whoops! The trip there was uneventful in comparison to last week too which i can only be happy about- we even got offered a regular lift from someone there who lives close by but i figure who's to know what weeks we'll be going and what weeks we aren't.. [my Out Count is out of sorts but i'm going to work that out again- shan't be too difficult *LOL] ..on top of the fact that i don't have to pay for the pre-arranged transport... i politely declined, but thanked her for thinking of us (turns out next weeks she has meetings and the week after they are away on holiday so couldn't have given us a lift then anyway, but i still appreciate the offer all the same) ..Nina was a lot more independant today and whilst this would be a good thing for most kids ..it was just Nina reverting back to her insular ways so i persevered and tried to include her in everything that was happening around her. Kath, one of the volunteer helpers, was brilliant- she came over and introduced herself to Nina and because there was so little noise, Nina could actually hear and said 'Hello Kath' back to her ...whoohoo- progress =)) ..i made this my time to exit and grab a cuppa whilst Nina was happy to sit modelling with Kath and explaining precisely what she was doing...and again- without the usual hubbub of noisy kids, i was able to see that Nina didn't feel like she had to stay seated, but looked like she wanted to stop and play =) .. hell, she even wanted to sit and have a drink with the other kids today and sat down without the usual itch to get up and go ...that's ma girl *vbg

Don't Look a Gift Horse...

We got offered an upright piano today....whoohoo!! ...only i juSt haven't got the wall space for it =(( .. i'm considering asking my folks to put it at their place until i can sort something out here.. as they are selling up anyway its not like they're going to have to alter their way of living to accommodate it ...and they did say that they were going to put some stuff into storage when they moved so what more trouble would a little dinky upright piano be =/ ..i'm looking into moving house too- the girls are 9 years apart and whilst its very cute that they are both snuggled up in bed in the same room at night, its hardly fair on Lauren who gets not an inch of privacy ...3 bedrooms is seeming more like a neccessity than a luxury just now... actioning it is a whole other matter tho- once i start the ball rolling i'll be worried i can't stop it and i don't want things to get too out of hand and me ending up somewhere i don't really want to be...
Regards the upright tho- i'm not going to say 'No' before i at least look at what options i've got...
