7/7......to be honest, I didn't partake in the 2 minute silence and I wasn't in any way affected by 7/7. Gbola was on his way home from work when it happened, close enuff to hear one of the bombs go off. He showed no sign of 'suffering' or upset at what happened. We may be a heartless pair, but it was bound to happen.
Sadly tho, this country doesn't appear to feel the depth of loss that is STILL occuring on a daily basis in another country where we shouldn't be. Both to British soldiers (and those from other countries), and the Iraqi's whom have had their country invaded.
We have suffered in one attack, just a smidge of what the Iraq's suffer on a daily basis, and I believe we should keep this in mind before getting overly-emotionaly upset about a bunch of people in London.
Just a few weeks after the incident, it was business as usual, and altho the news told us that more people were riding bikes in London than ever, the tube has been as packed as it was BEFORE 7/7 happened, if not more so.
So much for learning from our mistakes.
