After the Rain

I was hopeful of a cooler day today after the torrential storm that broke yesterday afternoon- it was wonderful- wet, windy and cool for the first time in a fortnight and i'd probably have gone stood in it if Nina wasn't already desperately trying to force her sweaty feet into her rubber wellie-bobs -no point saying no to her for me to then go dancing around the garden huh *LOL ..i opened the back door to check just how bad it really was and was gobsmacked to see a swimming pool in my back garden that was washing up over my doorstep that stands at least 8" high- and i wouldn't mind but i have drainage holes and a grid in the dip.. sorry, it's not a great camera phone pic
i woke at 5am (i'm getting to that age ...*gulps) and the air was so sweet and crisp that i stood at the window breathing it in until Ben woke to ask me 'what the f*@! are you doing?' ..that did kinda spoilt the moment somewhat =) ..but this morning i'm struggling with weepy sticky eyes that i can't only assume are down to hayfever -thankfully, the humidity has dropped and the heat isn't so stiffling ...is the typically freakish British summer over with for this year now then? ...personally, i certainly hope so =))
