Pressure Points

I went for my mystery hospital appointment today with a little more knowledge than i had last week =/ ..part of me wishes i hadn't asked.. i won't tell you what i was told before.. i'll just tell you what happened: My sister drove me to the hospital and we arrived in plenty of time- happened to park right next to the department i needed and when we rang the bell to be let in we were taken straight to a side cubicle... i was gobsmacked! ..the guy who was dealing with me had one of those dodgy eyes that doesn't quite look at you when he's talking to you.. that on top of the fact that he looked shy, like he didn't want to make eye contact meant he may aswell have been behind a curtain or have had his back towards me- very comforting...NOT!! ...so i have to sit on the edge of a rickety hosptial bed with a bib on (my sisters decided to go find the hospital cafe at this point- thanks for your support *LOL) ...firstly i have some anaestetic spray shot up one of my nostrils- it smells of just passed their best bananas but i've definitely had worse so i don't complain -i'm instructed to look up at the ceiling whilst a rubber tube the size of a drinking straw is shoved up my nostril just as far as the back of my mouth ...at this point the tube refuses to go any further and has to be removed so it can sit in a cup of hot water for a few minutes "softening up" ...eek! ...so attempt #2 and once the tube reaches the back of the throat i have to put my head down to my chest and drink constant swigs of water thro a straw whilst with each gulp the tube is being passed further ..this hurts like hell but i'm trying to be brave at this point =/ ...i'm informed that the tube is where it needs to be and possibly because i'm not concentrating so much i start to gag ..and retch.. and gag somemore -i think i frightened the poor guy and he soon realised that even tho i pointed at the tissues it was a bowl that i needed ..*teehee ...you know- at this point i have sneezed around the nasal tube, i've coughed up chunks of God-knows-what (i've not eaten in over 14 hours) and my eyes are streaming down my face- such a good look =( ...the guy looked a bit panicked at this point and decided to spray the back of my throat with the bananary stuff ...yucky! ..i think i was just worrying and my chest hurt which didn't help =/ ...the tests haven't even begun yet and i'm already wishing i could just shove my shoes back on and come home =( ..so, the basis of the test is to check the pressure on my oesophagus (sp?) ...the tube will be withdrawn 1cm at a time and a pressure check done.. and then this is repeated until the end of the tube reaches a particular point and then its all shoved back down into my stomach again and the whole precedure is repeated but this time whilst lying on my back i have to take big gulps of water whilst trying not to swallow at any other time and no burping or coughing either (not a problem until you're told you can't do it *LOL) ...so thats all done and it wasn't pleasant and i'm desperately trying to control my breathing but i'm worried that somethings going to go wrong and i'm thinking about the girls and Ben and what ifs... and then the guy tells me there is one more test which is a balloon that already attached to the tube inside and he's going to inflate it inside my throat repeatedly, with a little more volume each time.. sounds horrendous but its far worse than that and i could feel the tears trickling into my ears as i lay there counting my breathing- how sad! the first time with the balloon just felt odd- almost like someone had but their thumb on my windpipe.. and i pointed this out to the guy but he seemed disinterested... so the second time it felt the same but with more pressure ...again- no interest.. gradually i reached a point where i didn't want to continue but felt as there were only 2 more volumes to go thro i'd do it for a better overall result... i wish i hadn't tho.. i felt like someone was standing on my chest and shocking dragging pains .. if i hadn't been in a controlled situation i would have been calling 999 at that point i reckon.. and with that it was all over.. and with the tube still in place i started a sneeze-fest =) ...bloody snot everywhere =) ...once i'd stopped the tube still had to be removed and that was twice as bad as it going in.. i felt i was being pulled inside out and all the air out of my lungs were coming with it too ...and the outcome? i dont' know yet- i have to wait until the results from this test are sent to my local hospital and the consultant has looked over those and my previous test results... all so they can tell me i'm too fat ...eurgh!

Whilst I Was Gone...

My mum and dad had to have the girls- i couldn't take them with me and Ben couldn't get any time off work. ...my mum is still having time off work because of her surgery tho so they decided to take the girls on a day trip- probably to the beach and such- Ninas never been to the beach and was very excited when we packed her backpack with all sorts of goodies for her to enjoy on the journey =) ...i'm hoping Lauren has a good time- i don't think she is too old to be out with her grandparents just yet.. altho there won't be many more years that she'll want to go build sandcastles on a windy Welsh beach *sobs* ...next year i'm hoping it will be sunbaked Greek beaches tho =)

BB7: Day 76

This week Big Brother has been on holiday to Margate and so the housemates have been left ‘Home Alone’… the first night the housemates were given enough treats to have their own slumber party - PJs, sleeping bags, water toys, cake, biccies etc… and then a mass sleepover occurred on the bedroom floor- that was until they one by one realised they were too old for that (apart from Glyn and Jennie, I think) and crept back into their own beds during the night...

	BB reached an all time low for me this week when they decided, 3 weeks from the end of the show, to announce the results of the tests (taken by the Housemates before BB began) to the rest of the group. I’m sure BB were just adding another notch on their ‘Victimise Aisleyne’ belt …would the results have been made HM knowledge (the public already knew) if Aisleyne hadn’t have come top in the Machiavellian test -I know I passionately support Aisleyne now but I do think she is going to be the bad guy when she leaves and after Makosi last year- I just don’t think that’s on =(( NOMINATED: Glyn and Mikey NOMINATED BY: Pete
	Glyns really starting to annoy me- his voice, his attitude, his crap sense of humour, his clothes.. eurgh!! ...i'm fed up of hearing about his 'journey' and how he is now a man.. blah blah blah! ...basically, he came in the house with a floppy curly hair-don't and got his head shaved (like Pete) then bleached his hair (like Pete) then started wearing trendier clothes (like Mikey) and became argumentative (like Ricahrd) ... be your OWN man Glyn...pftt!! 	Imogens not so bad now she has shaken any reminders of the old "Plastics" group... she's found a voice and even told Mikey where to get off this week ...she's up for eviction this week and might leave thro basically doing too little too late - i don't think she'll care if she leaves but i hope she stays... her friendship with Aisleyne is nice to see NOMINATED: Jennie and Richard NOMINATED BY: Jennie, Pete and Richard
	Jennie is doin' my 'ed in!! .. considering she has a boyfriend on the outside who she has been seeing for at least 4 years, then her behaviour in the house i find odd ...she chases after Pete like a lovesick puppy and throws the nastiest of looks around to anyone who dares to interact with Pete - i actually dislike her enough to want her gone this week- but i can't see it just yet NOMINATED: Imogen and Susie NOMINATED BY: Imogen, Mikey and Susie
	Michael had had enough in the house and was genuinely happy to be leaving -he's since declined an agent and wants to just be himself -commendable, i thnk =) ...shame some other ex BBer's don't think the same way =/ ..now outside he is backing Aisleyne to win and feels priviledge to have met her ... awwwwww
	Mikey has gone too far now- i reckon he's never been 100% sure that he is the top dog but with Spiral and Michael leaving last week he can now assume what he feels is his rightful positioning in the house! Only thing is- if you are self-appointed andself-important then you are going to piss off some of those around you ...this week, with 4 people up, Mikey shouldn't pressume he is going to be safe *teehee NOMINATED: Jennie and Susie NOMINATED BY: Aisleyne, Richard and Susie
	Petes spending a lot of time with the boys now.. he's joined in the cake and water fights and has been chatting with the lads about women and beer *gasps* .. it might be because he is spending most of his time with Jennie who enjoys mucking about with the lads too- its done Pete some good and he isn't moping about so much now...yaaaay! 	Richard broke the record for saved evictions last week during the friends task (BB2 Paul was evicted on his 5th time up!) ...i was hoping, for the sake of records, that Richard would be up for the 6th time this week too but he got a week off - maybe next week he will be an easy target to nominate but actually- he seems far more settled in the house than previous weeks and appears to be getting along quite well with his fellow hosuemates -wonders will never cease! 	Spiral was gutted to be leaving the house last week.. but not as gutted when he realised the woman of his dreams was the only one to nominate him ..eek! ...to be fair, in Spirals eviction interview Davina wasn't exactly impartial but she did say maybe Spiral could have taken no for an answer... Spiral wishes he'd never met Aisleyne now and is supporting Mikey from the outside.. oops!
	Susie came across as a bit of a fuddy-duddy when she voiced her disapproval of the food fight- i kinda like that about her- she isn't afraid to speak her mind, sadly, thats what has caused her to be put up for nomination again this week... who's to tell which was the public voting will go this week- people have been saying they want Susie out since the week she went in but with other fish to fry... well, i just don't know who will be leaving on Friday NOMINATED: Jennie and Mikey (after spending an hour on hold in the Diary Room) NOMINATED BY: Glyn, Jennie and Mikey
